Ireland’s economic prosperity is inextricably linked to how competitive we are internationally. As a small open economy, relative cost competitiveness is a significant determinant of Irish competitiveness, and ultimately economic growth, employment and our standard of living. The Council has just published its latest report. Costs of Doing Business in Ireland 2017 report benchmarks the main costs facing enterprises, across 70+ indicators. It focuses on Council concentrates on the costs that are largely domestically determined such as labour, property, transport, utility, credit and financial, and business services.
